Galway Duo on International Stage

Connacht U-18 and U-16 Captain Freddie Timmins and Michelle Carey have been called into Una Mc Carthy's Irish U-16 squad to face Belgium next week in a three match series. Timmins is already a veteran of the Irish scene having represented Ireland last year at the European Championships held at Klein Switzerland in Holland, where she helped the Irish side to secure a fourth place finish as she anchored the Irish defense. In fact both Timmins and Carey are the only Connacht players to be involved at this stage but there are plenty waiting in the wings such as Elaine Carey, Michelle's youngest sister who has just been included into Una Mc Carthy's larger panel for the first time.Everyone one from GHC would like to wish both girls all the best next week, for a full listing of the squad and time of games please see below.
