Galway youngster Michelle Carey has received an Irish Call following a successes full trial Michelle has been selected for the Irish U-16 squad to face Belgium next week. Supporters of Galway hockey will not be surprised by this as the young Carey made her senior debut for the club at the tender age of 13 and last year became one of the youngest players ever to win a Connacht Senior Ladies title as Galway 2nds defeated Greenfields firsts in an epic final last year. Michelle has been a product of the Galway youth system, which has seen her become a member of the first ever Connacht side to win an underage interpros, she was also an integral member of Jes school which claimed the All-Ireland schools title recently to bring title back to Galway something that had been last achieved 20 years ago.  So everyone at Galway HC would like to wish her all the best as she steps forward on to the international stage for the first time.
