The Connacht U-16's head into this weekend's U-16 interprovinicial tournament led by Galway Hockey's Club's under age star Freddie Timmins, this is the second time that Freddie wil Captain the Connacht U-16's, which in itslef is a unique achievement. Having made history last year by becoming Connacht's first ever captain to lift the U-16 trophy in the history of the sport. Timmins will again be hoping that her Connacht side will be able to retain the title they worked so hard last year to secure. Captain Timmins is supported in her quest for Glory by the Carey sisters Michelle and Elaine both of who are rising stars within the club. Michelle was a regular last season with Galway 2nds and became one of the youngest players at 14 years of age to win a senior Connacht Ladies Cup medal, while Elaine is also training with the Irish U-15 team as the moment. Ruth O'Suillivan completes the Galway contingent on this year's U-16 squad, Ruth has also played a number of times this season for Galway senior's this year and is another raising starlet with a great future ahead of her.
