Under 16s make it a hat-trick of cups

Congratulations to Galway Hockey Club Under 16B squad who have just won the Connacht Under 16b Cup.  Galway beat Athlone in the final today by 1 goal to nil.  Aileen Prendergast scored the winning goal 2 minutes into the second half.  On presenting the Cup to the Galway Captain, Sadhbh Gavin, Ciaran Delaney on behalf of the branch congratulating both teams on their standard of hockey and that it was an enjoyable game to watch.  Sadhbh in return thanked the committment and dedication of the rest of the squad and especially their coaches Caroline Codyre and Simon Casey and their manager Claire Cunningham.  

Club President Donal Dempsey congratulated the squad on making it a hat-trick of cup wins in a week, following the senior squads win in the Examiner Cup on St. Patrick's day and the Under 14A squad winning the league cup a day later.  With such great talent on these squads, the future is certainly looking positive for Galway Hockey Club.
